Electric Cars in Brazil and the Versatility of FCC Products in National Automotive Production

Brazil is blazing its own trail in the hybrid and electric car revolution, driven by government incentives and growing environmental awareness. In 2023, the country achieved remarkable results, marking exponential growth in sales of electrified cars. The Brazilian Electric Vehicle Association (ABVE) recorded a 91% increase in sales, reaching 93,927 vehicles. And this movement is already a reality in 2024, with a record 12,026 units sold in January alone, representing an impressive 167% increase, according to Fenabrave.

The FCC in the Transformation of the Sector:

In this scenario of transformation, FCC plays a crucial role in car manufacturing in Brazil, supplying a wide range of thermoplastic elastomers, including TPE and TPV, which meet the specific demands of the automotive sector. With years of expertise and a portfolio dedicated to the segment, our product range is prepared to meet both the production of combustion cars and the new demand for hybrid and electric cars produced in the country. From the interior to the exterior of vehicles, our products are key components that boost the functionality, durability and efficiency of modern, sustainable cars.

‍

Versatility of FCC Products:

FCC products stand out for their incredible adaptability, providing diverse applications in different areas of vehicles, whether combustion, hybrid or electric models. From the fundamental "under the hood" elements, such as hoods and air ducts, to external contributions, such as headlight seals and sealing profiles, our products are essential. In addition, when they enter the interior of vehicles, they play a significant role in comfort details, including trim, linings and cup holders made from our thermoplastic elastomers. This breadth of applications reinforces our dedication to ensuring excellence in the manufacture of the vehicles of the future.

‍

Lightweight and efficient:

One of the advantages of FCC's thermoplastic elastomers is that they are lighter than traditional rubber. This characteristic plays a crucial role in the search for more efficient and economical vehicles. In addition, the vibration absorption capacity provided by these materials contributes to improving the performance of electric vehicles, making them not only sustainable, but also efficient in terms of energy consumption.

As electric cars take to the streets of Brazil, FCC continues to be at the forefront. With over 15 years' experience, we have pioneered the production of thermoplastic elastomers for the automotive sector in the country. Want to know more about our products? Talk to our technical sales team here.
