FCC is a company committed to education and the development of society. We recognize the importance of education not only for training future professionals, but also for collective well-being. Through education, we enable individuals to become active, informed citizens capable of improving their own lives and contributing to the progress of their regions.
One way in which we demonstrate this commitment is by supporting teaching initiatives and educational events, especially those that promote innovation and science. Mostratec, the renowned science and technology fair held annually in the Vale dos Sinos region of Rio Grande do Sul, is a good example of creating an innovative environment capable of fostering the development of students of different ages.
Mostratec is a meeting that brings together students and scientists, from kindergarten to high school, including Technical Professional Education. In the recent edition, our researchers were once again invited to be part of the fair's judging panel, a task that fills us with pride.
We also had the pleasure of seeing FCC products being used in innovative solutions. A group of 4th grade students from the JoĂŁo Wagner State High School, located in the town of Morro Reuter (RS), stood out with a sustainability project. They embraced a cause related to the environment and, in their search for solutions, used FCC products.

From Concept to Innovation:
It all started with the simple routine of sorting waste in the classroom. The students soon wondered about the fate of the pencil shavings they produced, aware that waste that is difficult to recycle usually ends up in landfills. Determined to make a difference, they immersed themselves in research and explored possibilities.
After extensive research and collaboration with the FCC, the class came up with a creative solution. In partnership with our organization, they carried out tests on materials and samples of pencil shavings. From this, they came up with rulers made from recycled material combined with TR, a thermoplastic elastomer produced by FCC and commonly used in the manufacture of shoe soles.

Sustainability in Action:
At the culmination of the project, the class proposed using the material in mixtures with thermoplastic, suggesting its use in dustpans, garbage cans and other products. In this context, color is not a relevant criterion, since the pigmentation present in the pencils, whether graphite or colored, mixes with the material, altering its original color. This work won the class third place in its category!
We are proud to support students who share our commitment to a more sustainable and innovative future. Â

At FCC, we believe that education and innovation are the foundations of a better future for all, and we will continue to support initiatives that reflect these values.
